Outtakes from my shoot for Maxim magazine.
Here’s an expanded set of images from my day shooting for Forbes Magazine recently.
Having quiet spells as a freelancer is a funny thing…on the one hand I drive myself insane stressing out about when the next job is going to come through but then again, it always ends up being suppressed by an unquenchable desire to shoot. It’s an itch I’ve got to find a way to scratch and it’s really the only thing that calms my mind. Doing what I love to.
Worry less. Shoot more.

Well, I’ve not updated my tumblr in a while. Thankfully It’s due to me having a string of pretty fun and interesting jobs!
I photographed my first magazine cover which felt like a huge step in the right direction. The image above is the final one selected to grace the cover of New Orleans Magazine and I’m very happy with how it all came out! A huge thanks to fellow photographer Kerry Maloney for assisting me and to all the Doctors I shot for the article, everyone was great!

I used two Alien Bees. One in a beauty dish with a grid the other in a large PLM with the diffusion panal on for a bit of on-axis fill. This combination allowed me to keep the shot somewhat dark but with a subtle spot on the background and still be able to control the shadows with the large modifier.
Here is a quick shot of the finished cover after I went to pick some up from the office.
